There is a need for an immersive digital experience that connects people to the richness of global heritage, making cultural exploration intuitive, engaging, and widely accessible.
AppLabs
Many people are interested in trying new cuisines but may lack the knowledge or resources to do so. There is a need for a platform that makes it easy to discover and share recipes from different cultures while providing context about their origins and significance.
PlayCraft
Many players are interested in learning about different cultures but often lack opportunities for immersive experiences. There is a need for a game that combines fun gameplay with educational content about global festivals and traditions.

Design-A-Thon '24 was a 36-hour challenge with over 400 participants tackling real-world problems. It included workshops, mentorship, and networking, fostering creativity, skill-building, and meaningful connections.

Registration
Design-A-Thon '24 saw tremendous participation, with over 400 registrants from universities across the country, including prestigious institutions like IITs, NITs, and DU. The event featured three exciting tracks: WebWeave, AppLabs, and PlayCraft, each offering unique challenges and opportunities to showcase participants' skills. Teams of 2 to 4 members registered via Unstop and competed for prizes worth Rs. 2,00,000. After the online round, selected teams were invited to the offline event held at K.R. Mangalam University, where they collaborated, innovated, and presented their solutions.

Event Schedule
The Design-A-Thon '24 unfolded over 36 hours of creativity, learning, and innovation. The event kicked off on Saturday, November 23, 2024, with participant check-ins and an opening ceremony. The first day included workshops, mentoring sessions, and a research submission followed by a judging round. Throughout the night, participants engaged in various activities, including a Design Thinking Workshop and high tea. The second day began with a final submission briefing, and breakfast to refresh participants. The event concluded with a Winners Announcement and the closing ceremony, celebrating the achievements of all participants.

Is this an online or in-house event?
Design-A-Thon '24 is an in-house event that will be conducted at K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram, Haryana.
What is the eligibility criteria?
Design-A-Thon '24 is open to all students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in design-related fields. Participants must register as teams of 2 to 4 members on Unstop and and selected teams will be called for the offline event.

I am from a non-design background but would like to participate, can I?
Design-A-Thon '24 is open to students from all backgrounds who are interested in design and creativity. You are welcome to participate in the event and showcase your skills and talent.
Will travel and accommodation compensation be provided?
Design-A-Thon '24 does not provide travel and accommodation compensation to participants. Attendees are responsible for their own travel but will be provided with meals and refreshments during the event.
What is the process for registration?

Do we have to pay to participate in the competition?
No, registration for Design-A-Thon '24 is free of cost. Participants can register for the event on Unstop. The teams that are selected for the offline event will be required to pay an amount of Rs. 400/- per team for their accommodation, swag, and meals.

Are we allowed to form our own teams?
